DESCRIPTION:

Nexus-Zero is the designation for a liminal alt-spatial dimensional complex existing in a series of contiguous Database sectors which have yet to be overwritten.

The probabilistic unlikelihood of these "tombstones" coexisting in concurrent space is notable; the extreme extranarrative density within fragments of NX-0 render it susceptible to major discrepancies in local reality. Despite this, the overall structure of NX-0 has withstood the process of full overwrite, and continues to necessitate upmost caution during exploratory efforts.

NX-0 comprises a number of different environments, time periods, architectures, and inhabitants, with no known limit to variety or frequency. However, infrastructure reminiscent of Foundation secure facilities and research laboratories account for over a third of these spaces.

Other locations that may be encountered within NX-0 include:

• various biomes
• hypo/hyperdimensional planes
• facilities matching that of other groups of interest
• narratives without anomalous phenomena
• this narrative, and any others with access to it (unconfirmed)

This is the suicide mission to end all suicide missions. I wish I was just waxing poetic but it's less a cry for help and more a job description. Things start and end. Everything must end.

This is my first time in a graveyard. I mean, of course it is, as far as I know. Time is a flat circle, and departments on this side of the Barrier walk orthogonally through that same circle. It seems like that should make for better prescience, but it's more limiting than you might think. Let's say we see the Forest, but you can see the trees. Or the other way around. And there are Forests and trees in all possible directions we both can't see, but let's not get into that.

I was abandoned on this faded, little hillside, overlooking a twinkling cityscape. Space is an inky black like the far side of the moon, no stars, no gridlines. It doesn't look real. It doesn't feel real. Not quite. And yet… The lights and sounds would say otherwise.

Entry into NX-0 was not the concern at any point. It was laughably easy. The hardest part was manifesting at all, of course. It's not my first go-around, but it doesn't get easier. Underwatch is cryptic as always, documentation basically describes a wild card clip show carnival of horrors, and I can't stop thinking about my own demise. Basically your average Tuesday.

After my orientation, I was given the Assignment. That thing keeping me here. It was an average snatch n' grab, except, I have no fucking clue what I'm looking for, and it's in Epitaph, the largest deleted metropolis in the Database. It has this other nickname, Kenopsia, but I don't see how that's appropriate.

I'm tired, but still a few kilometers outside the city lines. Decided I'll hike it now instead of resting. It's not like I could get to sleep with the commotion, anyway.
