There's been a lot of people asking "Is this going to be the new site theme?" and an equal amount of people saying "This theme is terrible".
This wall of text here is to clear up any questions. If you see anyone else asking, direct them here.
Black Highlighter (BHL) is a new CSS theme (previously known as nu-SCP or nuSCP). It acts as both a theme in and of itself, and as a framework to make it easy to build new themes based on it.
However, it's not a replacement for sigma9, and it's not going to replace sigma9. BHL is not sanctioned or endorsed by any SCP Wiki staff in any official capacity. It's just being made by a few people who are tired of the current theme, which we believe is outdated and poorly-accessible to the less able. We're trying to make a better one that uses more modern web design techniques.
BHL is objectively more accessible than sigma9. It has a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes to make it more accessible to users of any ability. For example, try changing the default font size in your browser settings or tab through the top bar menu with your keyboard.
Is it aesthetically better? That's up to you and your opinion. We think that it is.
We've had our say, so now it's your turn. If you think that this theme is awful - and you're well within your right to do so - then speak up! Send a message to Woedenaz or
Croquembouche detailing exactly what it is you don't like about the theme and how you feel it can be improved. Remember to keep the criticism policy in mind - we're making a CSS theme, we're always looking for advice and improvements but we don't like being insulted. If you wouldn't say something about a draft on the forums, then keep it to yourself.
